CONGRATULATIONS JEREMY BEDZOW, URBAN LAND INSTITUTE 2017 YOUNG LEADER OF THE YEAR

UrbanLandInstitute
I would like to thank ULI for this extraordinary honor and the opportunity to represent my peers here tonight, as Young Leader of the Year 2017. I am very pleased and privileged to be here. Thank you.
Is is important, even in moments of great joy such as this, to remember that there are those suffering grief and pain. To those that have been impacted by the many recent natural, and non-natural disasters, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Everyone has a right to achieve a happy life, not only joy and satisfaction from pleasurable experiences, but also an inner happiness of quiet and calm. I wish that for all of you here tonight.
The mission of Urban Leadership Institute is to promote leadership in the responsible use of land.
Conservation is a state of harmony between man and land. We may never achieve this harmony, as we may never achieve liberty and justice for all, but in these higher aspirations, the important thing is to strive.
Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, sacrifice and most importantly, love for what you do. Will the Ceiba Groupe team please stand up. Team work makes the dream work. Thank you guys.
Why am I here? I am not the best, not the fastest, not the most successful. I am 35, my college degree is in jazz guitar performance, and I started my career as a dog trainer. Why would you select me? Perhaps, it is because of the following:
Being trained as a jazz musician, and I am no prodigy, I was taught to cast as wide a net as possible, to feel and to interpret my environment, while being acutely focused on time, and aware of the possible manipulations within a melody.
Prior to starting my life in real estate, I worked in 4 continents, in 7 countries, where they spoke 5 languages, honing this skill, sharpening the saw, learning to keep my eye on the ball, without being hypnotized by it.
Now, I’m 35, I’m working with my partner and brother Adam Bedzow, who is a true professional and a real bad ass. We have an exceptional team that has our back, for good and for bad. We are focused, we are humble, we are investing in our communities. We are Ceiba Groupe, and we are growing the future, today. Thank you.
